This is a beautiful, proven son of Blue Ace. I call him SOBA. I purchased him from John Marles who has been using him as a breeder with much success. But I really don’t have a place for him and I intend to bring back some of my own birds to my breeding program this year.

Blue Ace is the mother of the Perfect Cock, making 36368 a half-brother to the Perfect Cock. SOBA is also a grandson to the legendary Golden Gaby. Blue Ace has a great performance AND breeding record. I did not breed from SOBA this year. He is medium in size and very well built. A little long cast.

Right Turn Clyde

Amazeballs

Amazeballs

I received my two birds from Rick Mee’s Apple Cup Yearling Classic last week. I have to give major props to him for a great race series and conditioning of the birds. My birds came back with such great muscle and silky feathers. I entered three birds last year in his race. It was only the second OLR I’ve ever entered. One bird was lost off the loft in the early months, but two of them raced and completed the entire series against the top lofts in the USA. Some flyers had entered 18-20 birds in this race!

These were some tough conditions with a mix of cross winds, head winds and heat. Right Turn Clyde finished in the money (27th Average Speed) but Amazeballs came in too late to finish high enough for money. Still happy she toughed it out and made it home.

Right Turn Clyde is out of my Koopman pair (my only pair like this) and is line bred to Kenny’s Girl (Protege Loft) and Witoger 720 (also Protege Loft). Amazeballs is actually a niece to Right Turn Clyde and is a cross with my Koopman’s and Evans Gaby’s via the Wicked Pair.

Thanks for the fun and entertainment, Rick, and I’ll be sure to enter again!

Our pairings for 2017 http://www.kastleloft.com/2015/12/our-pairings-for-2017/ Sun, 20 Dec 2015 13:07:43 +0000 http://www.kastleloft.com/?p=985 Below you will find photos and descriptions of our M&D Evans Vandenabeele pairings for 2017. Many of our pairings are switched up every year to truly get a good test of each bird. The birds listed below are what I consider our best birds although we do breed from about 10 total pairs.

Scroll to the bottom of the page for details on purchasing from these pairs.
Many of these pairs will produce babies that carry the LDHA and DRD4 (dopamine receptor) genes which have proven to have an influence on the performance of racing pigeons. Below are the prices for birds which are tested for and carry those genes:

Blue AA CCCC birds will be $600
Blue AA CCCT birds will be $900
Blue AB CCCC birds will be $300 and up
Blue AB CCCT birds will be $600 and up

Rec. Opal AA CCCC birds will be $800
Rec. Opal AA CCCT birds will be $1200
Rec. Opal AB CCCC birds will be $400
Rec. Opal AB CCCT birds will be $1000

Sylvan Diba Pair

diba-pair_1920

Sometimes to move forward, we have to look back. These two birds pictured above are the parents of Danica Need to Know, the hen of the Wicked Pair (see below). She is one of my absolute best hens. My goal in my breeding program is to concentrate the genetics of the best of the best birds. Buy purchasing the parents of one of my best, I am assured to keep these genes around for a long time. Children from this pair not only have the blood of Pre Olympic and Davina coursing through them, but they also have Shadow 5 times. Their children are proven both on the race course and in the breeding loft. With the addition of this pair, I am now breeding and racing four generations from them.

Cock: Sylvan Diba is a direct son of the world-class Pre Olympic when mated to Lady of the Rings.

Dam: Sylvan Little Smile is a direct daughter of Davina and Lord of the Rings.

Price: $750

Khaos X Donatella

Kastle pigeons in photo box Sunday, December 11, 2016, in Lexington, Ky. (AP Photo/David Stephenson)

Cock: Khaos GB 13 C 35525. Our second direct son of Pre Olympic when mated to Golden Lady. He, like his half-brother, came to us with an already shining breeding record. He is extremely smart and adaptive. He is scared of nothing.

Hen: Donatella 15 OCR 2094. (Picture to come) She is a full sister to Campbell’s Prize. She is a daughter of Sylvan Perfection (a son of the Perfect Pair pictured below) and Don Campbell’s 11-Flight Hen. Don told me she would be good and he was right. In her first year she bred money winners in the Banks of the Wabash. She bred 5th @200 119b. | 4th @ 300 57b. in the Banks of Wabash Challenge. | And in Ohio, she bred 1st Place Combine 250 miles 257b.

Price: $600 (very limited availability)

Dark Storm X Lucy in the Sky

lucy-x-dark-storm

Sire: Dark Storm 14 GB C 29801. Until February, 2015, there was only one child of Black National in North America (a daughter here at Kastle Loft). Now there are two. Kastle Black’s half-brother has arrived in America to breed for Donald Campbell (Pressing On Loft) and here at Kastle Loft. We will continue to breed, test and select for the best M&D Evans Vandenabeele’s in the tough headwind races. Meet Dark Storm: Exclusive PIPA offer direct from 1. Nat. Carenthan winner ‘Black National’. His mother is breeder of the super Nat. acebird ‘Cruise Missile’.

Dam: Lucy in the Sky AU 12 GHC 1947. She is also a successful racer having also competed in very tough competition in the GHC and FSI for John Weeks. Four siblings in the same year scored and a sister was 14th Champion YB GHC club. She has proven herself to be statistically my best hen as a breeder so far. She has bred multiple outright club and combine winners and money winners for me and for others and multiple ACE birds while being mated to THREE different cocks. Most recently, one of her sons scored in the money in the Dixie Convention Race 2015 (32nd place). Her children are breeding winners against 200-700 birds.

Sylvan Perfection Pair

One of the best proven sons from The Perfect Pair now at Kastle Loft

au10fsi133-_-izzy

Cock: Sylvan Perfection 10 AU FSI 133. I somehow convinced – or wore down – Don Campbell to sell me his superb, proven cock which he has had for the last 5 years. I already have one proven cock (Campbell’s Prize, see below) from Sylvan Perfection and I’m now also breeding from yet another son and daughter in 2016. But to have the original source, the sire of so many fantastic winners and breeders, will continue to set up Kastle Loft for long-term success. He is a grandson of Shadow and carries the lines of Rolls Royce, Carrie and the Uno line. Try finding any children of the Perfect Pair for sale! You won’t find them, and if you do, you will have to pay a hefty price and for good reason. Here is just some of the record of at least 4 generations of his progeny:

Hen: Sylvan Izzy AU 2011 GHC 12727. She has a fantastic record as a racer but now also as a breeder for John Marles in the tough competition in the GHC. As a racer for John Marles, she finished 11th 250m. 1439b. | 23rd 150m. 1395b. | 30th 120m. 1308b. | 38th 250m. 1455b. | 45th 400m. 1721b. | 55th 500m. 1167b. | In 2015 she bred a hen GHC 7856 who was: 21st vs. 2007b. 200 miles (1%) 91st vs. 1615b. 350 miles (5%) 75th vs. 1310b. 120 miles (6%) 118th vs. 1250b. 120 miles (9%) | In 2016 Izzy bred Kastle 1641 who was a money winner in the Dixie Convention race handled by Arthur Vega. Sylvan Izzy is loaded with the greats and is line bred back to the world class Kleinen SEVEN TIMES!

Price: $500 each.

Black Einstein Pair

The best of Shadow and Black National together

pigeons

Cock: Kastle Einstein 2012 GB C 39756. I’m very excited about this pair of imports. Einstein has proven through two generations to produce winners, Ace birds on up through to the Federation level. His children are already producing winners and a 2nd AU ACE Ohio. He is one of the last babies to ever be sold from Myrtle Loft’s #1 breeder Eisenhower. I can count on one hand the number of children off Eisenhower in the U.S. I am breeding from 5 of his children this year.

Hen: Kastle Black 2014 GB C 30000. Also extremely noteworthy is the hen, Kastle Black, who is the ONLY daughter of Black National in North America. (A son of Black National has joined the Pressing On Loft/Kastle Loft partnership – see below). These are the ONLY children of Black National in North America!. Black National was a fantastic and accomplished racer in headwinds for Les Morris in the UK before being bought by Mark Evans. Black National is already breeding winners. Their babies so far have been very consistent in their size and conformation. They are medium in size and very strong with nice chest size.

Price: $750 each (Although if you have enough money, you may be able to talk me out of a recessive opal youngster out of them).

Mr. Kastle Pair

Line bred Shadow from two proven parents.

Kastle-1396_Exchange-Rate-pair_1600

I am leaving this pair together again for 2017 after their children performed well in 2016, including AU 16 Kastle 1601: 4th @200 119b. | 5th @ 300 57b. – Banks of Wabash Challenge 2x $$ winner | AU 16 Kastle 1602: 1st 200m LRPC

Cock: Mr. Kastle 2013 AU Kastle 1396. This beautiful cock fits my criteria for breeding perfectly. You can see by the his results in the photo above that not only was a he an accomplish racer for Don Campbell, he has also proven to breed children that can win. He is a son of Kastle Einstein, so I am thrilled to have him back in the loft with his father to continue to propagate those Shadow genes through more generations.

Hen: Exchange Rate 2014 GB C 300138. She is a grand daughter of Shadow and also a grand daughter of Eisenhower. Her babies in 2015 were fantastic for me and a friend in North Carolina. She was mated to a son of the Perfect Pair and Einstein last year and it worked out quite well, so I expect that by mating her to another Shadow bird will be successful.

Price: $400 each

Makin’ Gold Pair

Proven performance cock with a direct daughter of Golden Gaby and Davina

Makin-It_Kastle-Gold_Text_1400

I am keeping this pair together in 2017, hoping to repeat the success of their daughter, Kastle 1634, who was a money winner placing 6th in a very tough crosswind Greenbelt Convention Race at 340 miles. (Thanks to Jim Stevens for wonderful handling)

Cock: Just Makin’ It 2011 AU FSI 1166. He is an AU Registered Champion having raced in the GHC for John Marles against very tough competition. He is line bred to the Perfect Cock, the product of an uncle x niece mating. A very high percentage of his siblings are equally good or better racers, as are his cousins, etc. Perhaps even more important, his siblings are breeding equally successful racers at high percentages. This tells me that this line is potent for racing and breeding, so my odds of reproducing the same are in my favor. To boot, he is a physically perfect specimen. His babies raced very well for me in 2015 winning diplomas and Eq. 1sts. Another baby won money in the 2015 Dixie Convention race placing 32nd vs. 238b. at 300 miles.

Hen: Kastle Gold 2014 GB C 30024. She is one of the very last children of Golden Gaby to be sold by Mark Evans. Golden Gaby has proven to be a fantastic breeder at the highest levels and down through many generations. Mark Evans has declared that he will no longer be selling children from Golden Gaby, so I feel very fortunate to get one of the last. Kastle Gold, whose dam is the world-class Davina, is ridiculously strong and fierce and for quite a while I thought she was a cock. Children from this pair will be full of strength and vigor.

Price: $500 each

The Wicked Pair

Proven under all conditions at all distances, especially 350 mile young bird races. Line bred to Shadow.

Wicked-NTK-pair_1920

Of course let’s not forget this pair. They were easily the best producers of 2014 and 2015, including “First Drop Don” you see below. Their best victory in 2015 was with Blue Moon Pie (Kastle 1524) who was my one and only entry in a one loft race in 2015. She was a May hatch, sent late to the Blue Bucket Stampede OLR, and ended up winning money 3 different ways and finished 19th Average Speed with over 600 birds competing. In 2014, I sent two nest mates to Don Campbell to fly. In the highly competitive OCR race, they both finished strong, placing 2nd (Eq. 1) and 14th out of 538 birds at 340 miles. One of them raced well enough to be the 13th Ohio YB ACE pigeon 2014.

Check out those results from their babies above – which I haven’t updated with 2015 races yet! Wicked Strong is a grandson of Shadow and has Shadow in his pedigree 3 times. The Need to Know hen is a stunning grand daughter of Pre-Olympic, Lady of the Rings, Davina and Lord of the Rings. The babies are generally medium and are very strong. The will be blue bars, or dark checks. I had a couple of white flights pop up this year.

Price: $500 each

Campbell’s Prize Pair

130105fv102_littlemajor_1920

Sire: Campbell’s Prize AU 2012 FV 102. He has raised winners every year and with 4 hens so far. I wasn’t disappointed in 2016 when another of his children placed in the money in the Dixie Convention Race. Like in 2015, his other son Kastle 1540, placed 8th in the Dixie Convention race. In an earlier race leading up to the Dixie for Arthur Vega, Kastle 1540 placed 20th against more than 1,000 birds. Campbell’s Prize is one of the very few children to leave the loft from Don Campbell’s prized pair, The 11-Flight Hen and his Son of the Perfect Pair (Sylvan Perfection FSI 133, see above). The potency of the children from the Perfect Pair is remarkable and has indeed been passed on to Campbell’s Prize. His children have bred winners already, too. In 2014, Campbell’s Prize bred Kastle 1446 who placed 4th in the 2014 OCR against 539 birds, is the 3rd ACE bird for Ohio and 153rd National ACE out of nearly 2700 qualified ACE birds in the country. Another son, 1442, bred money winners for the Rosarios in the GHC in 2106. Combined, these two grandchildren of Campbell’s prize have placed so far: 12th @150m vs 1,591b, 27th @300m vs. 713b (Band Race), 99th @250m 699b.

Dam: Little Major GB 15 Z 87680. She is a double inbred Rolls Royce and a direct daughter of one of Mark Evans’ best breeders, Major Player. She is a darling little hen, owned in partnership with Don Campbell. We are confident that she will breed excellent birds when paired with Campbell’s Prize who has bred winners with every hen he has ever been paired to.

Price: $400 each

First Drop Don and Lovely Rita

Two proven racers and breeders line bred to Shadow

{Photo to come}

Sire: First Drop Don AU 2014 Kastle 1424. A son of the Wicked Pair (above), he was raced by Don Campbell of the IHC club in Cleveland. This bird was on the first drop of every race he was in, including a fifth race at 175 miles when Don had a clock malfunction and lost the race. His best finish was 2nd (Eq. 1) in the OCR vs. 538 birds at 340 miles. His siblings have been fantastic racers and now he and his siblings are breeding winners.

Dam: Lovely Rita 12 AU IHC 5734. This grand daughter of Benetton and Rolls Royce has been the perfect hen for me and will no doubt be a perfect mate for the son of the Perfect Pair. Babies from this pair will have Shadow and Rolls Royce on both sides. She has perfect conformation, size, and has produced winners with three different cocks. Her children have also produced winners.

They both have performance. Their siblings and successive generations have high performances. My expectations are, based on both performance and fairly tight genetics, is that they will breed clones of themselves. Check back with me in November and we shall find out!

Price: $300 each

The Recessive Opals (aka Mosaics)

Winning lines of Eisenhower, Jester, Carrie, Golden Gaby and more.

mosaic recessive opal homing racing pigeons

I have a handful of recessive opal birds (also called mosaics to the Brits and racing pigeons folks). It is a recessive color and the gene has to be present in both parents in order for the children to show the color. Our recessive opals will have the blood of Shadow, Eisenhower, Jester, Carrie, Lady Spirit, 90 Cock, Golden Gaby, Joint Venture, etc. These birds are winning in my club and one placed in the money in the 2016 Dixie Convention Race. Some of the recessive opal birds we are breeding from includes A cock (Kastle 1418) and another hen (Kastle 1616) will be from Kastle Einstein x Kastle Black. The second cock is a product of Golden Gaby x Lady Bliksem and the 90 Cock x Lady Spirit. Babies from Kastle 1418 have been racing very well earning diplomas in my club and winning some money in an auction race in North Carolina.

Check for availability and specific pricing. Babies will be starting at $400. Raced young birds will be more.

Terms

We will not be raising many extra late hatches unless someone has asked us to. If you see something you are interested in, I would highly recommend talking with me about it before I split up my breeders. It is entirely likely I will have some birds to sell from my racing teams at the end of the season, but of course the prices will be higher since they will have been tested. But there will be no guarantees as to which birds I will sell from my team.

This is a racing loft, not a breeding station, and the majority of birds are being raced here at Kastle Loft and around the country in futurity and One Loft Races. If you are interesting in purchasing a baby from one of these pairings, the only way to guarantee it is to place a non-refundable deposit. I keep a close eye on the health of my breeding pairs and limit the number of babies they feed in any given year. I will not be raising extra babies from every pair just to sell.

The prices will be honored until October of 2017. A $100 non-refundable deposit will hold a baby for you. With a deposit, I can also put you on a waiting list in case someone backs out. By holding a bird for you, I will not make it available for purchase to anyone else while I feed, medicate and care for it. Therefore, the deposit is non-refundable. The bird(s) must be paid for in full by November 1, 2017 or I will make the bird available again for purchase. If I am not happy with the quality of the birds, I will refund your money or we can apply it to another available bird. I fully expect that the 2017 hatches will be mature for the 2016 breeding season. Total balance will need to be paid before I ship any birds. I do not have space to house birds into the next breeding season. I prefer to ship the bird as soon as possible to get them acclimated in their new home. Please be prepared to pay the balance due when the bird is approximately 6 weeks old. You will be notified well in advance of that date. All birds will be vaccinated with PMV and KM-1.

AU 13 Kastle 1396, dubbed “Mr. Kastle” by Donald Campbell, has returned to his birth loft where he will breed for the next few years. He was sent to Don as a baby to race in the IHC club in Cleveland where he built a very good record with a limited young bird and old bird season. Turns out, he’s proven to be a great breeder, too. That M&D Evans Shadow blood just keeps producing winners generation after generation. Mr. Kastle is 100% M&D Evans and a grandson of Eisenhower x Joint Venture with additional doses of superb genetics from Golden Gaby, Carrie, and Queen of Diamonds.

And now that I’ve had the chance to have father and son next to each other and I’m amazed at how similar they are. This is my goal: line breed from the producers and try to make clones that perform as the parents and grandparents did. Don has worked tirelessly and applied his talents to my birds and I can’t thank him enough for that and for letting me “borrow” Mr. Kastle for a while.

Our pairings for 2015 http://www.kastleloft.com/2015/01/our-new-pairings-and-introductions-for-2015/ Thu, 29 Jan 2015 11:38:56 +0000 http://www.kastleloft.com/?p=892 Below you will find photos and descriptions of our M&D Evans pairings for 2015. I will only be raising one extra round from each of them to make available for sale. The rest are being raced here at Kastle Loft and around the country in futurity and One Loft Races. This is a racing loft, not a breeding station, so we do not have much to sell. Because of that, I highly recommend that you place a deposit on any bird that you may want. It is the only way to guarantee getting what you wish.

The prices below will be honored until October of 2015. A $100 deposit will hold a baby for you. With a deposit, I can also put you on a waiting list in case someone backs out. By holding a bird for you, I will not make it available for purchase to anyone else while I feed, medicate and care for it. Therefore, the deposit is non-refundable. If I am not happy with the quality of the birds, I will refund your money or we can apply it to another available bird. I fully expect that the 2015 hatches will be mature for the 2016 breeding season with the exception of Dark Storm young ones. Total balance will need to be paid before I ship any birds. All birds must be paid for by the end of 2015 or I will resell the bird. I do not have space to house birds into the next breeding season. If I can determine the gender of a bird or if gender is not requested, I would prefer to ship the bird as soon as possible to get them acclimated in their new home. Please be prepared to pay the balance due when the bird is approximately 6 weeks old. You will be notified well in advance of that date. All birds will be vaccinated with PMV and KM-1.

The Florida Pair

Florida-Pair_1600

New pairing for 2015. I call them my Florida Pair, as both of them have raced in the GHC and/or FSI.

Cock: AU 11 FSI 1166 “Makin’ It” – He is an AU Registered Champion having raced in the GHC for John Marles against very tough competition.

Hen: AU 12 GHC 1947 “Lucy in the Sky“- She is also a successful racer having also competed in very tough competition in the GHC and FSI for John Weeks. Four siblings in the same year scored and a sister was 14th Champion YB GHC club. She has proven herself to be statistically my best hen as a breeder so far. She has bred multiple outright club and combine winners and money winners for me and for others and multiple ACE birds while being mated to two different cocks. Her children are breeding winners against 200-700 birds. She shares the same blood as the cock mentioned above (1166).

They both have performance. Their siblings and successive generations have high performances. They are both line bred, although the hen a little more lightly than the cock. The hen is a proven breeder. They both are nearly identical in physical qualities. I have a hard time telling the two apart.

My expectations are, based on both performance and fairly tight genetics, is that they will breed clones of themselves. Check back with me in November and we shall find out! Children from this pair are $500 each. (SOLD: Randy Parker -h, SOLD: Jay Holder -c). Update: A third baby has become available.

The Kastle Black Pair

Kastle-Black-Pair_800

This pair should produce some great racers, especially in the headwinds. Check out the results of First Drop Don, who was raced by Don Campbell of the IHC club in Cleveland. This bird was on the first drop of every race he was in, including a fifth race at 175 miles when Don had a clock malfunction and lost the race.

Also extremely noteworthy is the hen, Kastle Black, who is the ONLY daughter of Black National in North America. (A son of Black National will be joining Kastle Loft later this year – co-owned by Kastle Loft and Pressing On Loft – see below. These are the ONLY children of Black National in North America!). Black National was a fantastic and accomplished racer in headwinds for Les Morris in the UK before being bought by Mark Evans. Black National is already breeding winners. Their babies so far have been very consistent in their size and conformation. They are medium in size and very strong with nice chest size. Two children available from this pair and are $800 each. (SOLD: Rosario Loft, SOLD: Rino Truglio -c).

The Wicked Pair

Wicked-NTK-pair_1920

Of course let’s not forget this pair. They were easily the best producers of 2014, including “First Drop Don” you see above. Just check out those results from their babies above. Wicked Strong is a grandson of Shadow and has Shadow in his pedigree 3 times. The Need to Know hen is a stunning grand daughter of Pre-Olympic, Lady of the Rings, Davina and Lord of the Rings. The babies are generally medium to medium-large and are very strong. The will be blue bars, blue checks or dark checks. I had a couple of white flights pop up this year. Children from this pair are $500. (TWO SOLD: Randy Parker -h,h).

Pair 1

131230pigeons459_1920

I’m very excited about this pair of imports. Einstein has proven through two generations to produce winners, Ace birds on up through to the Federation level. His children are already producing winners and a 2nd AU ACE Ohio. He is one of the last babies to ever be sold from Myrtle Loft’s #1 breeder Eisenhower. I can count on one hand the number of children off Eisenhower in the U.S.

The hen of this pair, Kastle Gold is one of the very last children of Golden Gaby to be sold by Mark Evans. A burly blue check cock from this pair is available at $800 (SOLD – Ralph Buran).

Impeckable Pair

Check back for photos
Impeckable (11 AU GHC 12732), a proven breeding son of the Perfect Pair and bred by John Marles, has joined the 2015 breeding season at Kastle Loft. This cock is a son of the Perfect Cock and grandson of Shadow. He is mated to Exchange Rate (14 GB C 300138) who is a grand daughter of Shadow and also a grand daughter of Eisenhower. These babies will be line bred to Shadow. They are small to medium, very streamlined and look like little missiles. They have had perfect performances in young bird racing for me this year so far. Children from this pair are $500. (TWO ARE AVAILABLE)

Blue Billy Pair

Check back for photos
Blue Billy Shears, a proven breeder and a double great-grandsons of Champion Shadow. He is mated to Michelle My Belle, a darling little hen who is inbred to the famous Rolls Royce. They have proven to breed very determined birds which are frequently first to the loft. They will be blue bars on the small to medium size and very intelligent. Children from this pair are $300. (ONE IS SOLD, ONE IS AVAILABLE)

Mosaics

2013-DBLJ-17_034_1200

I have one or two recessive opal birds (also called mosaics to the Brits and racing pigeons folks) that will be available. They will have the blood of Shadow, Eisenhower, Jester, Carrie, Lady Spirit, 90 Cock, Golden Gaby, Joint Venture, etc. Then hen of the pair is Dear Prudence (pictured). The cock will either be a son of Kastle Einstein (from Pair 1) or a cock that is a product of Golden Gaby x Lady Bliksem and the 90 Cock x Lady Spirit. Mosaic babies are $400. (ONE IS SOLD, ONE CHECK WF HEN IS AVAILABLE)

Dark Storm

Until this morning, there was only one child of Black National in North America (a daughter here at Kastle Loft). Now there will be two. Kastle Black's half-brother will be heading to America to breed for Donald Campbell (Pressing On Loft) and Kastle Loft. We will continue to breed, test and select for the best M&D Evans Vandenabeele's in the tough headwind races. Meet Dark Storm: Exclusive PIPA offer direct from 1. Nat. Carenthan winner ‘Black National’ Mother is breeder of the super Nat. acebird ‘Cruise Missile’

Last but not least, this fantastic son of Black National, co-owned by Kastle Loft and Pressing On Loft, will arrive in the U.S. in time to breed a couple of late hatches in 2015. Please inquire as to availability, pricing and pairings. There are only two children of Black National in North America and we have them both! These babies will be hatched in late summer, so I cannot guarantee sexual maturity by Jan. 1. (SOLD: Wayne Jackson. SOLD: Rino Truglio. More are available as he will be mated to multiple hens.)

New to Kastle Loft for 2015 is Kastle Black. She is a direct daughter and the only direct child of Black National in the U.S.

This super racer for Les Morris and now owned by Mark and Dick Evans, contains the best Vandenabeele bloodlines of M & D. Evans at Myrtle Lofts crossed with Vandenabeele bloodlines from Rik Cools of Belgium. In the pedigree of Black National you can see many outstanding top performance racers and breeders including the super De Blauwe Gaby 103 from Koen Minderhoud, who is in the pedigree three times. Also you’ll find the world-famous De Wittenbuik B.88.3206112 five times, and De Bijter B.80.3250688 five times, so it is not surprising that Black National is an outstanding performer and already a proven breeder. The dam of Kastle Black is a daughter of another outstanding performance and breeding pigeon, Golden Gaby.

2014 Young Bird wrap-up http://www.kastleloft.com/2014/11/2014-young-bird-wrap-up/ Fri, 14 Nov 2014 22:07:38 +0000 http://www.kastleloft.com/?p=883 pigeons_flyingCountless hours over many months along with a great set of birds gave us an enjoyable young bird season this fall. Our club raced 7 races, of which we won 4 of them. Kastle Loft had a great showing in the IHC club with our birds being flown by Don Campbell. And in North Carolina, Jim Combs found success with some of our new Gaby’s in the Tar Heel Race Club Auction race (3rd place with Kastle 1466) and in one of his combine races (4th and 7th place vs. 261 birds with siblings Kastle 1486 and 1487).

In club races, we finished with 4 Firsts, 4 Seconds, 4 Thirds and 4 Fourths as we enjoyed large drops when our birds came in. We also earned Champion Loft and had the top 6 Champion Birds and 9 of the top 10. With Don Campbell racing our birds, we had multiple diplomas, multiple equal firsts. But the most impressive stat came with the OCR race. We sent Don 4 birds in April. All four birds raced in regular club races earning diplomas and equal firsts. All four birds clocked in the OCR race. We finished 2nd (eq. 1), 4th, and 14th out of 537b and 47 lofts at 340 miles. We had two birds qualify for AU ACE status.

We have removed the under-performing breeder birds from out team and have replaced them with a spectacular set of imports from Mark Evans and one Registered AU Champion flown by John Marles out of his Magic Pair and line bred to the Perfect Pair. We are bringing in a direct child of the World-class Golden Gaby when mated to Davina. This is one of THE last birds to ever be sold out of Golden Gaby, according to Mark Evans. We have also acquired a direct daughter of Black National, a very accomplished racer for Les Morris and in head wind racing. Another import, a grand daughter of Shadow x Top Investment and Eisenhower, will also be joining our stable of fantastic hens.

Our last addition to our breeding team will be a direct daughter of the impeccable and potent Perfect Cock (son of Shadow) and the Ugly Bastard (daughter of Golden Gaby).
