Our pairings for 2015

Below you will find photos and descriptions of our M&D Evans pairings for 2015. I will only be raising one extra round from each of them to make available for sale. The rest are being raced here at Kastle Loft and around the country in futurity and One Loft Races. This is a racing loft, not a breeding station, so we do not have much to sell. Because of that, I highly recommend that you place a deposit on any bird that you may want. It is the only way to guarantee getting what you wish.

The prices below will be honored until October of 2015. A $100 deposit will hold a baby for you. With a deposit, I can also put you on a waiting list in case someone backs out. By holding a bird for you, I will not make it available for purchase to anyone else while I feed, medicate and care for it. Therefore, the deposit is non-refundable. If I am not happy with the quality of the birds, I will refund your money or we can apply it to another available bird. I fully expect that the 2015 hatches will be mature for the 2016 breeding season with the exception of Dark Storm young ones. Total balance will need to be paid before I ship any birds. All birds must be paid for by the end of 2015 or I will resell the bird. I do not have space to house birds into the next breeding season. If I can determine the gender of a bird or if gender is not requested, I would prefer to ship the bird as soon as possible to get them acclimated in their new home. Please be prepared to pay the balance due when the bird is approximately 6 weeks old. You will be notified well in advance of that date. All birds will be vaccinated with PMV and KM-1.

The Florida Pair

Florida-Pair_1600

New pairing for 2015. I call them my Florida Pair, as both of them have raced in the GHC and/or FSI.

Cock: AU 11 FSI 1166 “Makin’ It” – He is an AU Registered Champion having raced in the GHC for John Marles against very tough competition. He is line bred to the Perfect Cock, the product of an uncle x niece mating. A very high percentage of his siblings are equally good or better racers, as are his cousins, etc. Perhaps even more important, his siblings are breeding equally successful racers at high percentages. This tells me that this line is potent for racing and breeding, so my odds of reproducing the same are in my favor. To boot, he is a physically perfect specimen.

Hen: AU 12 GHC 1947 “Lucy in the Sky“- She is also a successful racer having also competed in very tough competition in the GHC and FSI for John Weeks. Four siblings in the same year scored and a sister was 14th Champion YB GHC club. She has proven herself to be statistically my best hen as a breeder so far. She has bred multiple outright club and combine winners and money winners for me and for others and multiple ACE birds while being mated to two different cocks. Her children are breeding winners against 200-700 birds. She shares the same blood as the cock mentioned above (1166).

They both have performance. Their siblings and successive generations have high performances. They are both line bred, although the hen a little more lightly than the cock. The hen is a proven breeder. They both are nearly identical in physical qualities. I have a hard time telling the two apart.

My expectations are, based on both performance and fairly tight genetics, is that they will breed clones of themselves. Check back with me in November and we shall find out! Children from this pair are $500 each. (SOLD: Randy Parker -h, SOLD: Jay Holder -c). Update: A third baby has become available.

The Kastle Black Pair

Kastle-Black-Pair_800

This pair should produce some great racers, especially in the headwinds. Check out the results of First Drop Don, who was raced by Don Campbell of the IHC club in Cleveland. This bird was on the first drop of every race he was in, including a fifth race at 175 miles when Don had a clock malfunction and lost the race.

Also extremely noteworthy is the hen, Kastle Black, who is the ONLY daughter of Black National in North America. (A son of Black National will be joining Kastle Loft later this year – co-owned by Kastle Loft and Pressing On Loft – see below. These are the ONLY children of Black National in North America!). Black National was a fantastic and accomplished racer in headwinds for Les Morris in the UK before being bought by Mark Evans. Black National is already breeding winners. Their babies so far have been very consistent in their size and conformation. They are medium in size and very strong with nice chest size. Two children available from this pair and are $800 each. (SOLD: Rosario Loft, SOLD: Rino Truglio -c).

The Wicked Pair

Wicked-NTK-pair_1920

Of course let’s not forget this pair. They were easily the best producers of 2014, including “First Drop Don” you see above. Just check out those results from their babies above. Wicked Strong is a grandson of Shadow and has Shadow in his pedigree 3 times. The Need to Know hen is a stunning grand daughter of Pre-Olympic, Lady of the Rings, Davina and Lord of the Rings. The babies are generally medium to medium-large and are very strong. The will be blue bars, blue checks or dark checks. I had a couple of white flights pop up this year. Children from this pair are $500. (TWO SOLD: Randy Parker -h,h).

Pair 1

I’m very excited about this pair of imports. Einstein has proven through two generations to produce winners, Ace birds on up through to the Federation level. His children are already producing winners and a 2nd AU ACE Ohio. He is one of the last babies to ever be sold from Myrtle Loft’s #1 breeder Eisenhower. I can count on one hand the number of children off Eisenhower in the U.S.

The hen of this pair, Kastle Gold is one of the very last children of Golden Gaby to be sold by Mark Evans. Golden Gaby has proven to be a fantastic breeder at the highest levels and down through many generations. Mark Evans has declared that he will no longer be selling children from Golden Gaby, so I feel very fortunate to get one of the last. Kastle Gold, whose dam is the world-class Davina, is ridiculously strong and fierce and for quite a while I thought she was a cock. Children from this pair will be full of strength and vigor.  A burly blue check cock from this pair is available at $800 (SOLD – Ralph Buran).

Impeckable Pair

Check back for photos
Impeckable (11 AU GHC 12732), a proven breeding son of the Perfect Pair and bred by John Marles, has joined the 2015 breeding season at Kastle Loft. This cock is a son of the Perfect Cock and grandson of Shadow. He is mated to Exchange Rate (14 GB C 300138) who is a grand daughter of Shadow and also a grand daughter of Eisenhower. These babies will be line bred to Shadow. They are small to medium, very streamlined and look like little missiles. They have had perfect performances in young bird racing for me this year so far. Children from this pair are $500. (TWO ARE AVAILABLE)

Blue Billy Pair

Check back for photos
Blue Billy Shears, a proven breeder and a double great-grandsons of Champion Shadow. He is mated to Michelle My Belle, a darling little hen who is inbred to the famous Rolls Royce. They have proven to breed very determined birds which are frequently first to the loft. They will be blue bars on the small to medium size and very intelligent. Children from this pair are $300. (ONE IS SOLD, ONE IS AVAILABLE)

Mosaics

2013-DBLJ-17_034_1200

I have one or two recessive opal birds (also called mosaics to the Brits and racing pigeons folks) that will be available. They will have the blood of Shadow, Eisenhower, Jester, Carrie, Lady Spirit, 90 Cock, Golden Gaby, Joint Venture, etc. Then hen of the pair is Dear Prudence (pictured). The cock will either be a son of Kastle Einstein (from Pair 1) or a cock that is a product of Golden Gaby x Lady Bliksem and the 90 Cock x Lady Spirit. Mosaic babies are $400. (ONE IS SOLD, ONE CHECK WF HEN IS AVAILABLE)

Dark Storm

Until this morning, there was only one child of Black National in North America (a daughter here at Kastle Loft). Now there will be two. Kastle Black's half-brother will be heading to America to breed for Donald Campbell (Pressing On Loft) and Kastle Loft. We will continue to breed, test and select for the best M&D Evans Vandenabeele's in the tough headwind races. Meet Dark Storm: Exclusive PIPA offer direct from 1. Nat. Carenthan winner ‘Black National’ Mother is breeder of the super Nat. acebird ‘Cruise Missile’

Last but not least, this fantastic son of Black National, co-owned by Kastle Loft and Pressing On Loft, will arrive in the U.S. in time to breed a couple of late hatches in 2015. Please inquire as to availability, pricing and pairings. There are only two children of Black National in North America and we have them both! These babies will be hatched in late summer, so I cannot guarantee sexual maturity by Jan. 1. (SOLD: Wayne Jackson. SOLD: Rino Truglio. More are available as he will be mated to multiple hens.)
